Burr Removal & Skate Sharpening Finishing

Perfect your skate sharpening by removing burrs from the blade before hitting the ice. A burr is a microscopic, sharp metal edge that forms along the blade during sharpening. If left untreated, it makes the blade uneven and dull—causing friction, reducing control, and limiting grip on the ice. With proper burr removal, your skates become sharper, smoother, and truly high-performing. Upgrade your finishing process with premium tools from our online store.

Parduc® Selection:

  • Grinding stones (honing stones) in various grits and materials, including combination stones for efficient burr removal. Manufactured by the trusted Austrian brand TYROLIT
  • Diamond files for precise burr removal without damaging the blade’s hollow. An essential finishing tool for professional-level skate sharpening

How to remove burrs from skate blades?
Burr removal is the final step after sharpening. Gently glide the deburring tool along the blade surface 2–3 times on each side, applying light and even pressure. Be careful—the burr is extremely sharp!
